Hi, I’m Mike.

Welcome to PeripheralMike, my little corner of the internet where I share my thoughts, experiences, and tips about all things tech.

I’ve worked in technology for over 20 years now, starting out on the helpdesk for a major finance company then moving into software testing before moving into development, research, and architecture. Along the way, I’ve managed teams, mentored students, and had the privilege of working on some pretty exciting projects. I've always been mad about tech, not just for the tools themselves but for how they can make life simpler, smarter, or just a little more interesting.

This blog is my way of breaking down the often-overwhelming world of AI, cloud computing, testing, and emerging tech into something approachable and practical. I know firsthand how easy it is to feel like technology is running ahead of you. My goal is to keep things simple, friendly, and hopefully a bit fun. I want to explain things how I would want them explaining to me.

When I’m not geeking out over tech, you’ll probably find me playing video games over on Twitch as I'm also a massive gaming nerd.
